I have to admit I sort of fetishised Parlophone a bit when I was younger. I mean Blur were on it, The Beatles, Dusty Springfield, and Radiohead too.
Well, Blur were on (the now defunct) Food, which was a shoot off of Parlophone, which is owned by EMI, who are sort of bastardy...when I connected the dots the fetish was over.
Anyway, eager to get the cache of a small label back, EMI is pushing Parlophone in a faux-cuddly "I'm your friend" sort of a way by giving away free downloads on Facebook.
Just become a fan, then once a month you'll get a message with a link. With newer artists like Late Of The Pier signed, it's not too shabby a deal.
I'm all enamored with Parlophone again anyway, since they've put Blur's entire video library on youtube in HD.
