This is not your Country House Blur.
I wrote a post last year about songs with detached endings. By that, I mean songs that have a weird bit at the end that's tacked on, and has no real relationship to the song. I lamented that the little bit at the end of this should be its own song...
I don't know why but I hear Suffragette City in Swamp Song. It's definitely got a bit of a Bowieness to it. Oh and before you say something, I know I make up about 50% of the words I use...I think I'm going to come out with a Victorian Horror dictionary so you can follow along.
This is from 13. It was a Marmite album among Blur fans, either you loved their new direction or you hated it. I (obviously) loved it.

I love this song and thought the new sound of 13 was amazing. They could have easily done like so many other bands and stayed with what makes the megabucks and megahits, but not our Blur :)
and the live performance of Swamp Song from Basico 40 is not your Country House Damon!

coooooooooool!
The Basico 40 version is sooooo sexy and crazy. I wish there was a good recording! :(
Even before I watched the Basico 40 performance I was going to say that Swamp Song is Blur's sexiest song. There is something very seductive about it. But oh my goodness... the video Bren posted takes it to a whole new level. It's as if Damon is making serious love to the song! I love Grahams backing vocals.
oh yeah, awesome video!
