You can watch the proper video for Chemical World here, but I think I'm going to embed a live version from their 1993 gig opening for Duran Duran in Cologne. The crowd is sort of ambivalent to Blur, but it doesn't stop them performing a raucous Chemical World. So raucous in fact, that Graham breaks his guitar half way through from jumping too high.
To fill the time Damon asks the German TV station (that is broadcasting the show live) to go to commercial break. When they don't, he does a couple of advertising announcements himself..and in a quintessential britpop move he plugs Fred Perry (well, of course he does!)
Chemical World is Graham's guitar virtuosity at its best...when he can get through the song!

lol. I love this performance. They really really went for it. imo this was blur at their best. And the best for blur is very very good indeed (if that makes sense!)
Love the blog, it's nice to see there are still people out there that appreciate the best band of the 90's. Keep on posting!
