So, about month ago, Toumani Diabate had a show with a bunch of his collaborators, most notably from the Western music scene, Damon Albarn and Bjork. There's a couple of rough videos of the show up on youtube, so I figured I'd post one here, along with a photo I found on Flickr. Toumani is such a great musician, I got to see him earlier this year at the Logan Square Audiorium and it was magical. In other Malian musician/ Damon Albarn news, Damon is set to produce the new album by Amadou and Mariam, they are also brilliant, I got to see them at Lollapalooza this year and they are really fun live.

Did you know theres an Africa express show in London in Oct? Wish I could go :(

Toumani's show is so cool...there's this one guy who has an amazing voice and waves a lions tail around!
I'm holding out hope for an Africa Express show 'round here sometime :)
