Check it out guys...I like Elbow...and not in a guilty pleasure type of liking either. I like like them! I'm a huge fan of Guy Garvey, his music, his radio show? All great. So this post is for two purposes. To show their new video for Grounds For Divorce, and to show a very old one, for Asleep In The Back. Now, when you first hear Elbow you might think they're all unassuming and harmless, but guess what they're totally assuming! Did I just blow your minds? If you give their albums more than just a cursory listen you'll discover how absolutely totally assuming they are. So do it. They're one of those bands that actually make albums that you want to listen to in their entirety on repeat...just to kind of get lost in their world a little bit, and I know that sounds lame, like something my Dad would say about a Genesis album he's forcing me to listen to, but it's true. (Um, Peter Genesis, not Phil Genesis).
Yeah they're a bit Talk Talky...but so what? That's cool...oh they make pretty music, don't vomit though...it can still be done!
Before you get all high and mighty and remind me that I said I was sick of twee puppetry in music videos, keep in mind that Asleep In The Back came out in 2001, well before the cut off date.
