The NME, and London's Daily Star tabloid are reporting that the BBC tv show "The Weakest Link" is planning on a Britpop celebrity episode. They are hoping to bag Noel and Liam Gallagher (and here's the laughable bit) they also want Damon Albarn and Alex James to compete. To round out the contestants, they hope to get old britpop standards like Gaz Coombes from Supergrass, Jarvis Cocker from Pulp, and Justine Frischmann from Elastica to join in (awwwwkward!)
Now if this really happens, we all know who'll be the weakest link, unless the questions are on rhyming "stay" with "away" and "today". But don't worry this will never in a million years happen, and if it does it won't be with Damon Albarn. Given the fact that he had a messy breakup about 10 years ago with Justine, wants to shun all that britpop rivalry hoopla, and basically is a classy kind of person with bigger fish to fry: I reckon Damon will steer clear of this one. However, sadly Alex will probably jump at the chance to further hone his "country gentleman farmer" image by talking about cheese on tv again, so there might still be a Blur contingent.
Of course they could do a version with people they would be guaranteed to get, like Louise Wener from Sleeper, or those people from Menswear.

Finally! Liam Gallagher will be proven as the "Weakest Link". Which'll be nice since he's already got that missing link award.
